Art Lessons / Gallery Talks at the Newark Museum
Having been mentored throughout high-school and college and later having worked as an Art Educator at the Newark Museum for several years at the beginning of my career, I have a great appreciation and maintain continued involvement in arts education and youth community programs. A handful of times a year, I participate along with the great team at the Newark Museum in a series of Paint Nights for the youth and adults. In each class, I give a small gallery talk on the painting / art history era we will cover later in the studio, paint a replica of the artwork and then teach a class on painting basics where we complete an acrylic painting. They are educational, fun and one of my favorite activities. Below are some snapshots of the classes. :)
